When started the Peruvian Constituent Asembly in
1825, a
new national flag was proposed. Five projects were
presentated, but Bolivar rejected all them. Only a minor
change was made: the sun in the center was changed to
national arms.
Jaume Ollé, 27 Jul 1996
This was the old flag in
horizontal stripes, but the central white stripe vertical
divised in two parts, blue at hoist and white at fly; in
the blue 8 roses (one for each province), a flamme, and
sun. The colours of the roses, sun and flamme were not
quoted by J. G. Fuentes [fueXX].
Jaume Ollé, 27 Jul 1996
The second one is similar to the first but
green instead blue, without flamme, and stars instead roses;
also the colors are not quoted. This one influenced the
South Peruvian flag.

The third proposal was the
old national flag
with white sun and stars in the upper stripe.

The fourth proposal was white over yellow
(catholic choice?) with
ring of eight roses (suposed red) and within
a frigian cap.

The fifth proposal was red over white, with yellow
sun and surrounding it eight white stars.
