Municipal flag of Trbovlje

The flag and coat of arms of Trbovlje are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Trbovlje, adopted on 27 May 1996, and published in the official local gazette Uradni vestnik Zasavja, 9/1996.

The flag of Trbovlje is in proportions 1:2, derived from the coat of arms. It consists of a light blue field at the upper part and a green stripe along the lower edge, both being separated by a relatively thin black stripe that has a triangular "hatch" in the fly part.

Zalokar's book [zal90] shows the former coat of arms of Trebovlje, that was obviously the inspiration for the current one.
The former coat of arms has a somewhat different shield with the chief white and the chimneys red. It also includes a red fist rising from the wagon and atop a red five-pointed star. All of this symbolizes mining, industry and the revolutionary past of Trbovlje.
