Presentation of Suva Reka

The municipality of Suva Reka (in Serbian, "Dry River" / Suhareka / Suharekë (80,460 inhabitants; 341 sq. km) is located in southern Kosovo, 50 km north of Prizren. The Albanian Kosovars also call the town Teranda / Terandë, after the name of an ancient Illyrian fortified town (some consider Prizren as Theranda); this name was not recognized by the UNMIK administration, however.

Flag of Suva Reka

The municipal website shows a photo of the Mayor standing in front of the flags of Kosovo, Dardania (probably because the Mayor belongs to LDK) and Suva Reka, which appers to be blue with the municipal coat of arms in the middle.
The coat of arms of Suva Reka, shown on the upper left corner of the page, is a blue shield, outlined in yellow, containing a yellow sun with 48 rays charged with a leaf with five lobes, horizontally divided red-black. On the flag, there seems to be something added to the border of the shield (look just above the Mayor's left shoulder).

The municipal statutes, adopted on 11 November 2008, say:

Neni 3.

Article 3.
3.1. The municipality of Suhareka (hereafter, the municipality) shall have its own emblem and flag.
