The flag and arms of Šabac, as communicated by Jasminka Ristivojević, from the municipal administration, were adopted by the Municipal Council on 9 February 2001 and are prescribed in the municipal statutes (#020-2/2001-01). The flag is hoisted over the town hall. Vertical flags in proportions c. 1:4 were also seen in 2006 in the town.
The flag, derived from the coat of arms, is an asymetric, horizontal blue-white-red tricolor flag, blue covering c. 3/4 of the flag height, with wavy division lines and a white flower in canton.
A photograph shown on the website of the flag manufacturer GMT shows an unusual, vertical flag of Šabac, with apparent proportions 1:2. On the Serbian flag shown on the same picture, the coat ofarms is wrongly positioned.
