Shown in [pay00]:
1:2 blue flag with yellow five-pointed star in the middle. (This somewhat
reminds to the old flag of Congo. The resemblance
is coincidence, no doubt, inevitable with so basic elements.) Neubecker 1939
[neu92] captions this flag (in 2:3 ratio,
as all other rank flags) as flag of the
naval Captain (Kapitan zur See) with independent command.
Željko Heimer, 26 Oct 2002
This flag is given to Flotilla Commander
in the Album 1995 recapitulative issue
[pie95]. Change of the rank system
or something else?
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in [pay00]:
5:6 blue swallow-tailed flag with yellow five-pointed star in the middle.
Neubecker [neu92] captions is «Stander
eines Geschwander- oder Flotillenchefs», i.e. a flag of a
Commander of a Squadron or Flotilla, if I translate the naval unit names
correctly.
Željko Heimer, 26 Oct 2002
Shown in the Flaggenbuch [neu92],
Squadron (Geschwader) or Flotilla Commander: Ratio 5:6; basically the
same as today, the difference in the star size might not be significant.
Željko Heimer, 28 Oct 2002
Shown in Album 1995 recapitulative issue
[pie95] as 1 star rectangle 1:2;
This flag is given to commodore in Album 2000
[pay00]. Change of the rank system
or something else?
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in [pay00]:
A 5:6 swallow-tailed flag vertically divided into blue and white with a
yellow five-pointed star in the blue field. No matching flag in
Neubecker 1939 [neu92]. Presumaby this
was latter adopted to differenceate the position of the river defence
commander among other flotilla and squadron commanders, as this position
is probably unique.
Željko Heimer, 26 Oct 2002
Shown also in Album 1995 recapitulative
issue [pie95].
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in the Flaggenbuch [neu92]:
4:5 triangular pennant horizontally divided in red, white and blue.
Željko Heimer, 28 Oct 2002
Shown in [pay00]: Triangular 4:5 blue
flag. Same in Neubecker [neu92], even the
same ratio.
Željko Heimer, 26 Oct 2002
Shown in Album 1995 recapitulative issue
[pie95] trapeze blue.
In Album 2000 [pay00],
Senior Officer Afloat (the same rank?) is given a
triangular blue flag, just as in
Neubecker 1939 [neu92].
What about this trapeze?
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in Album 1995 recapitulative issue
[pie95]: Trapeze, white, blue cross.
(Reconstruction based on this vague description.)
Not given in Album 2000 [pay00]
(why? unconfirmed?)
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in Album 1995 recapitulative issue
[pie95]: no stars, i.e. pure
blue flag. Unusual, possibly an errorneous information not confirmed
by the time of issue of Album 2000
[pay00] (where it is missing). Any
idea if this is a credible flag, disconinued later on?
Željko Heimer, 27 Oct 2002
Shown in the Flaggenbuch [neu92]:
2:3 blue with a yellow five-pointed star in the middle.
