Overview

Bošnjaci is a community in the Vukovar-Srijem County, 50 km south-west of Vukovar, just outside Županja, 4,600 inhabitants, all in the single (large) village of the same name. Inspite of the name being the same as the name nowdays used by Bosniaks as the etnic name, it has nothing to to with Bosnian Muslims - it probably indicates that the original inhabitants once crossed the Sava river from Bosnia, indeed, but that does no mean that they were Muslims/Bosniaks, most probably they were Croats, as they are today as well.
The web site of the community showes the Coat of Arms and the ceremonial flag. The "normal" flag is reconstructed based on these, but it seems fairly stright reasoning. The coat of arms of Bošnjaci is: vert a bread or in a wooden mould proper.   Actually, I am not quite sure if it is a bread shown, but seems reasonable - it could as easily be a cheese, but I believe that bread production is more probable to be shown here then the cheese - however, let's hope we get this confirmed.
The flag is (probably) green with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the middle. The ceremonial flag is dark green gonfalon ending triangulary with golden fringe, the coat of arms bordered yellow in the middle, name of the community above and wheat garb and oak branch below it.

Coat of Arms and flag were designed by Heraldic Art d.o.o from Rijeka and approved by the Ministry of Administration/Central State Office for Administration before 2006.
