'Zdenac' means a well, more specifically a draw-well, 'zdenci'
being the plural form, so thats what's on the Coat of Arms.
Zdenci is a community some 60 km east of Virovitica,
with about 2700 inhabitants, some 1100 living in the place of the
same name that is the administrative seat of the community.
The coat of arms is azure a watter pouring upward from a stone
well all argent.
The community web site at <www.opcina-zdenci.hr>
showes the Coat of Arms in form addorned with linden branches, so
one may assume that there may be similar ceremonial flag, but we
have to find it yet. It is not clear either what the background
colour of the normal flag is, in the first place.

Piece of news from Tomislav ipek: There was a ceremony
where the flag was shown on a photo partially obscured. The flag
is white with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the middle.

Coat of Arms and flag were designed by Heraldic Art d.o.o from
Rijeka and approved by the Ministry of Administration/Central
State Office for Administration before 2006.

The Coat of Arms and the flag are described in the 2009
Statutes of the community: Statut Opcine Zdenci, 16.06.2009,
Slubeni glasnik Opcine Zdenci, br. ?/2009.
Article 5. claims that this is the historical coat of arms of
Zdenci, although I am quite convinced that this is not true and
slipped into the statutes by copying the requirements from the
regulations regarding the local coat of arms (the same
"error" was made by quite a number of communities
anyway).
It describes the Coat of Arms and explains its symbolic - it is a
"toponomastics figure" of Zdenci (meaning:
well/source). The number of sprinkles is determined to six. The
flag is described as we know it, white with the yellow bordered
Coat of Arms in the centre of it.
