piic Bukovica (S<pis<ic' Bukovica) is a
community less the 7 km north-west of Virovitica,
with about 5,000 inhabitants in the community, 1,800 of which
live in the main village of the same name.
The coat of arms was adopted around 1995, as was once shown on
the community web site. After some time (around 1997) it was
removed from the site, and in correspondence with the community I
learned that the ministry refused the design, so they stopped
using it.
No info on any flag whatsoever.

The coat of arms that was introduced in early 1990's was an
overcrwded quasiheraldic design that was soon rejected by the
Ministry of Administration and is not in use any more by the
community, or so they claim. The road sign at the entrance of the
community still show this coat of arms, as I confirmed passing
through a few days ago, though it is surely set up beofre the
Ministry decision and was just left there standing. Similarly,
the flag was brought to the County Hall (where I saw it) at the
time, but was not removed later.

The previous unsuitably design seems to have been replaced
with a proper coat of arms some time during 2009, as can be seen
on the community web site.
While the 2008
program of the Community Day celebrations still uses the old
and allegedly not used COA, the 2009 program
reports of the celebration already show the new COA - even though
on the flag - although it seems that the flag seen onthe photos
there is the ceremonial flag staffed as a normal flag, for
reasons unknown. Unfortunately, not clear enough to make a
drawing of it. Also it may suggest that the normal flag is also
blue with the coat of arms in the centre of it, this should be
confirmed yet at least by some photos of it in actual use.
On the other hand, the COA is clearly shown on the web site.
The coat of arms of piic Bukovica is: azure a wood
pile of seven logs proper inflamed gules in a pile inverted
argent.
It refers to the feast of St. John the Baptist when the Midsummer
bonfires are lit traditionally in piic Bukovica,
today also being the Day of the Community. Seven logs, I presume,
stand for the seven villages of the community.
