Overview

Gornja Vrba is a community in the Sl. Bord - Posavina County, due east of Slavonski Brod, with population of some 2,500 inhabitants, living in two settlements Donja Vrba and Gornja Vrba, the latter counting somewhat over 1,800 inhabitants. Many of them are working in neighbouring Sl. Brod, but the suburbial community is recently fast developing due to many companies building their installations there.
While checking the county gazette I located a relevant decisions:
- Odluka o grbu i zastavi opcine Gornja Vrba, 20.01.2009, Sluzbeni vjesnik Brodsko-Posavske zupanije, br. 1/2009, 03.03.2009, pp. 85-96.
The decision adopts the symbols of Gornja Vrba. The coat of arms is blazoned very simple and it must be a beautiful one: in a rectangular shield per pale gules and argent overall a willow tree eradicated counterchanged.
I have found no image, but it must be similar to the tree of the Vrbje community
It is said that the community has a flag and a ceremonial flag, but only the first is described: red, in the ratio 1:2, with the coat of arms bordered golden in the middle of it.
- Statut opcine Gornja Vrba, 07.07.2009, Sluzbeni vjesnik Brodsko-Posavske zupanije, br. 9/2009, 23.07.2009, pp. 1037-1050
The article 4 again claims that the community has a coat of arms, a flag and a ceremonial flag, although the next two articles describe only the former two and not the gonfalon.
