Hrašcina is a community in the Krapina-Zagorje
County, 2, 000 inhabitants, less the 150 in the village of the
same name. It issome 30 km north east of Zagreb, towards
Varaždin.
The coat of arms is shown in several tourist punlications and
leaflets and forwarded to me by Tomislav Šipek: Gules a
mullet of eight or within a border of the same. Such coat of arms
would have much chance to the be confirmed by the Ministry, but I
have no info on that. The existance of the matching flag is
highly probable, but again, no info.
I have no explanation for the symbolic. Since the name
Hrašcina has root in the word for oak (hrast) one
would expect something of the sort, but no... However, if there
is a ceremonial flag, it would surely be ornamented with oak
brances, I'd guess...

At the web site of the County <www.kr-zag-zupanija.hr>
there are available official gazettes since 2001 from which
mostly this is compiled to update info we currently have.
The Statutes of the community: Statut Opcine Hrašcina,
20.09.2001, Službeni glasnik Krapinsko- zagorske
županije, br. 14/01, 31.10.2001. In artcile 7, 8 and 9
describe the flag and the coat of arms. The coat of arms is gules
a mullet of eight or within a border of the same. The flag is
blue with the coat of arms in the middle.
I believe that these symbols were adopted prior to the statutes,
but at the moment I have no info (my assesment is around 1995 ?).
It is not quite clear how the name of the community is spelled.
The community uses form Hrašc^ina" throughout its
statutes, while the official gazette writes elsewhere
"Hrašc'ina" and I believe that this is how it is
spelled in the state Law on local administartion. I guess the
local version should be official - they should know better and
anyway it is more in accordance with the local dialect.
