The flag of the island Gran Canaria was adopted on 10th April 1989.

Its capital is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Beware not to confuse with Santa Cruz de la Palma, on La Palma island, for which Santa Cruz will also do; also don't confuse this one with Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on Tenerife island...
