Nordsachsen county
Nordsachsen (English: Northern Saxony) is a county (Landkreis) in
the Free State of Saxony, Germany. The district was established by merging
the former counties of Delitzsch and Torgau-Oschatz as part of the county
reform of August 2008.
The county is located in the plains north and east of Leipzig. The
main rivers of the county are the Mulde and the Elbe. The county borders
(from the west and clockwise) the states Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg,
the counties of Meißen, Mittelsachsen and Leipzig, and the urban county
Leipzig.
The county of Nordsachsen adopted news symbols on December,10 2008.
The flag is horizontally divided yellow-blue-yellow (1:1:1) with the CoA
of the county of Nordsachsen in the center of cloth.
The official description (in German):
*CoA:
In Gold zwischen zwei blauen Wellenpfählen ein aufgerichteter rot
bewehrter und gezungter schwarzer Löwe.
*flag:
Drei gleich breite Querstreifen in den Farben Gelb-Blau-Gelb mit
in der Mitte aufgelegtem Landkreiswappen, welches gleichmäßig in die beiden
gelben Streifen hinein reicht.
*banner:
Die Flagge als Hochformat (Banner) besteht aus drei gleich breiten
Längsstreifen in den Farben Gelb-Blau-Gelb und trägt in der oberen Hälfte
das senkrechte Landkreiswappen, das gleichmäßig in die beiden gelben Streifen
hinein reicht.
