The flag consists entirely of a landscape scene featuring a blue mountain rising from a low perspective green foreground of grassland; on the right side, a orange fox; above all, on the white sky, the lettering "Tsiigehtchic / Guichya Guich'in Country", set in a fantasy cursive typeface.

Tsiigehtchic (meaning "mouth of the iron river" and also known as Arctic Red River), with a population of 162 (as of 1996), is located at 67°27'N lat. and 133°44'W long., at the confluence of the Arctic Red River and the Mackenzie River. Local languages are Gwich'in and English, and the community belongs to the electoral district of Mackenzie-Delta and to land claim area of Gwich'in.
