Community of Zenica (Zenica and Doboj Canton) - The coat of
arms of Zenica is adopted some time after 1996, say 1997 or so.
It is of shield shape. It pictures the river Bosna flowing along
the right edge of the shield and curving along it. Two lines
crossing it in base symbolise communication. There are four
elements in circular medalions. The first one pictures the old
fort Vranduk, the seat of Bosnian kings and house of
"did" (patriarch of Bosnian pataren religion:
"bogumili"). Second medallion pictures a cross, one as
it is found on a monument of Kulin-ban, also symbolizing the
Christianity. The third symbol in clockwise order is a crescent,
symbolizing Islam and Turkish period, and fourth contains two
crossed hammers, symbolizing mining industry as well as,
indirectly, the Austrian-Hungarian period.
The flag is white, with the coat of arms set in the middle. The
vertical version is the only one prescribed. The width of the
coat of arms is prescribed 2/3 of the hoist. Ratio 1:2.
