The coat of arms meaning: Inside is the scene from our coastal
scenery composed of the Orinoco River, on the left a janoko
(house built on stilts) where our local Warao Indians live. On
the right is the Ojidu (Moriche palm tree), very abundant on this
island. The two macaw birds are also in abundance in the island,
the sun-down at the end of the Orinoco River and the entrance to
the Atlantic Ocean. The coat of arms was designed by Peter Ponce
and painted by Mr Paez Rodriguez, inhabitant of Cangrejo Island.
