"BANDERA Creada el 29 de Octubre de 1991, por el Prof. Eddy Ferrer Luque. Es un rectángulo divido por una diagonal del vértice inferior izquierdo al superior derecho. El triángulo superior de color azul celeste representa la profundidad espiritual, la reflexión y el pensamiento del guanareño. En la parte superior izquierda aparece el Escudo del Municipio. Using Altavista I translate it as: "FLAG Created on the 29 of October of 1991, by Prof. Eddy Ferrer Luque. The flag - Attributes and Semiology: Consists in a field with approximated ratio 2:3; this is, square and half of length divided by means of a diagonal from the superior canton of the fly to the inferior canton of the hoist in two triangular stripes: sky-blue (superior) and yellow (inferior). Completes the design the Coat of Arms of the Municipality on the superior canton of the hoist. The sky-blue symbolizes the spiritual depth, the reflection and the thought of the Guanarenian people,. whilst the yellow alludes to the economic production of the Municipality, whose identity and values are represented by means of its Coat of Arms.
Historical Synthesis: It was created on October 29th, 1991, by Professor Eddy Ferrer Luque.
The Coat of Arms - Attributes: Consist in an English contour divided per fess. The Quarter of Chief, enameled in Azure (blue) loads a dove in Argent (white) inserts inside an aureole in Or (yellow) on the center, all accompanied in the dexter and sinister by four six-pointed stars also in Or (yellow). The Quarter of the Base, enameled in Sky-blue, shows a landscape in which appears a town seated on a savannah in the middle of two rivers with a mountainous ridge  to the bottom, all in its colors. Over all, a diminished fess in Gules (red) loading the inscription "VENI CREATOR SPIRITUS" ("Come Creator Spirit") in capital gothic letters of Argent (white). As External Ornaments, the blazon presents the war voice "GUANARE" in capital gothic letters of Or as crest; two halberds in its colors crossed in saltire behind the field and two palm branches as supports, jointed under the base by means of a pennant in Argent (white) charging the ephemeris "3 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 1591" (November 3rd, 1591) in capital gothic letters of Gules (red).
Semiology: The First Quarter reminds that the capital of the Municipality was consecrated to the Holy Spirit. The Second Quarter represents a semblance of the local landscape where is located the capital of the Municipality in the middle of Guanare and Portuguesa rivers descending from spurs of the Andes Mountains range. The diminished fess emphasizes the first verse of the Latin Hymn dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The war voice raises the name of the capital of the Municipality. The halberds remember the arms men that founded it. The palms alludes to the feracity of the Municipality ground  and the ephemeris on the pennant  reminds the foundation date of Guanare.
Historical Synthesis: It was created on October 17th, 1974, by Professor Pedro José Muñoz
