California Privateer Flag (U.S.)

Have you ever heard of the California Privateer Flag? I once saw a picture in a book that was on sale in one of the missions, wish I’d bought it at the time because I’ve never seen it since. As I recall it was red and white stripes with the words “California Republic” on the bottom. In the center were the traditional crossed bones from the jolly roger, but where the skull head would be was the head on face of a snarling grizzly bear.
