City of Spencer, West Virginia, adopted a flag. The city website, dated 24th October 2008, states: http://www.cityofspencer.com/announcements.php

"After much work, the new City Flag has been approved. Citizens are to purchase a city flag from the city building Now!. The design captures the essence of our wonderful city: family, community and a rich heritage."

Flag is white, green border, gold map of West Virginia centered, a green star locates the city, above written CITY OF SPENCER, across the map a series of buildings and a family group, below a tree-like logo and a twig, and the words FOUNDED 1858.
