    The flag shows the image of the City of Longview Logo. The arrow in the "L" signifies continuous progress upwards. In addition, Longview is renowned for its Great Texas Balloon Race which originated in 1978 and is now one of the most prestigious, competitive hot-air balloon events in the world.
