    About the flag: "On 9 December 1985, Live Oak County adopted a flag at the request of the Cowbelle's Association, an organization of cattlemen's wives, which had sponsored a contest. The winning design, submitted by Mike Pilgrim, is white with a live oak tree in natural colors beneath the black inscription "Live Oak County.
