Description of the flag

The flag of the Town of Oakland has 5 unequal vertical stripes of red-white-red-white-blue. On the first red stripe (on the hoist) is placed the tri-star emblem of the Tennessee flag. On the first white stripe is placed oak leaf and 1919 below, "OAKLAND" in blue on the lower part of the flag across the first three stripes. " With our community dating from 1830, The Town of Oakland, TN was incorporated on February 1,1919. Population in July 2007: 4,170. Land area: 43.1 sq. mi. Water area: 0.2 sq. mi.
