Description

Sandra Giovanelli, Town Clerk of the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island, shot a picture of the town flag and sent it to me. The flag is blue with town shield on it. Ribbon with "TOWN OF CUMBERLAND" above, and ribbon with "INCORPORATED 1747" below.

About the town:
"Cumberland is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, incorporated in 1746. The population was 31,840 at the 2000 census. Cumberland was originally settled as part of Rehoboth, which was purchased from the local Native Americans by the Plymouth Colony. It was later transferred to Rhode Island as part of a long-running boundary dispute." - this and more in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumberland,_Rhode_Island

The central lozenge should have 8 white bars per quadrant - there are fewer in the image above due to size constraints.
