The website at http://www.cal-mum.com/msn11.htm notes:
On Saturday, June 3, 2000, the people of Mumford raised their own flag on the same flagpole dedicated in 1944. This flag, with Mumford in large red letters, and sheaves of yellow wheat reminding us of the rural history of our hamlet, was flown for the first time and for two days only. Special occasions will again bring this colorful symbol of local pride to the community flagpole. Those who gathered at the dedication in 1944 would no doubt smile and salute the efforts of the Mumford Neighborhood Association and others who made this possible. And to Rachel Santora, our flag's designer, we award honorary Mumford citizenship.Located by Valentin Poposki, 15 November 2005
