The Official Flag of the City of Jackson
The City Council adopted the City Flag design in 2007 following an open contest for the City’s first official flag. The winner was created by Jana Davis and she provided the following information regarding the design (which was slightly modified by adding the City name and incorporation date and using 47 stars to signify the number of men who died in the 1922 Argonaut Mine disaster):

I found an image of the original version of the flag, before it was
altered upon request of some Councilmen. The original version has a brown half
and no "City of Jackson". See it here:
