The flag is the city's seal on white fringed in gold. A photo of [part of] it can be seen at http://www.ci.hemet.ca.us/council.htm.

The website at www.cityofhemet.com/Home.htm shows a very busy seal in a standard circular format. There are two outer circles rather than one in this seal; the first is gray with the words 'CITY OF HEMET' in black block letters in a Roman type face at the top. Immediately before and after these words are two black five- pointed stars. The lower part of this outer circle contains the words 'RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA' written similarly. The second outer circle contains inscriptions both at the top and at the bottom, but the lettering is too minuscule for me to decipher it. The upper part of the image shows a b&w drawing of a sun rising over a forest scene; the forest is black, and there are five stylized rays emerging from the solar disc. The lower part of this image is not readily determined.

The lower part of the image displays two heads of American Indians in profile (female and male) wearing red headbands, with an Indian drum with red drumskin and crossed tomahawk and peace pipe with red feathers. The inner circle says
Incorporated January 1910 [the Hemet Chamber of Commerce website says Hemet was incorporated January 20 1910].
