Description of the Flag
According to James B. Minahan (1996) ("Encyclopedia of Stateless Nations: Ethnic and
National Groups Around the World" volume I) there is yet another flag of Alaska,
that of the "Alaskan national movement":
"The official flag of the state
is a dark blue field bearing seven small five-pointed gold stars in the form of
the constellation known as the "Big Dipper" and a single larger five-pointed
gold star on the upper fly. The flag of the Alaskan national movement is the
same flag with the stars enlarged and with the blue field outlined on the upper,
fly and lower edges by a narrow white stripe."
For the record, here is the flag as described by Minahan.
