The Gonfalon

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"At the 17th of Jule, 1998 village council session confirmed the gonfalon by solution N 26: a rectangular canvas with a ratio of the sides: 1:1. In a blue field is the yellow monastery gate on the green island. In the bottom is white wavy edging with a width of 1/5 from a width of the gonfalon. The authors are A.Grechylo and Yu.Terlets'kyi."

The City

I guess "horodok" means "village", like the russian equivalent "gorodok" (and spelled the same way in both languages, actually), so the flag may be indirectly canting if the church protrayed may be percieved as some sort of typical village church.

Literally the "gorodok" (or horodok) is a little town (gorod), not a village.
