The Communist Party of Turkey was founded in 1993 as
the Party of Socialist Power (Sosyalist
İktidar Partisi). The
present name was adopted in 2001, during the 6th
Congress of the party. The party emblem remained the
same as before the name change. The party flags must have looked almost the same
before the name change, except the acronym of the
party.
More detailed history of the Communist Party of Turkey
and its founding can be seen on the TKP website.

Different flags of the TKP - Images by Jorge Candeias, 27 March 2003
Different flags were used by the TKP in demonstration against war in Iraq in March 2003. All of these flags are mostly red, include the emblem of the party, made of a partial cog wheel, a hammer and a small star, and the acronym of the party.

Along with different flags with golden emblem on red field, the participants of the rally were carrying the flags with the party emblem in red, placed on the top of a wide golden vertical stripe. The stripe is placed in the hoist, close to the edge but not along it. According to the images seen on the party website (no longer available online), this flag contains no inscriptions.
