Overview

 Suchitoto is close to the location of the first capital of El Salvador in the 1500's before they moved it to its present location.

At <www.suchitoto-el-salvador.com>, you can read: "The municipality of Suchitoto is located to the northeast of San Salvador, with a territorial extension of 329.2 km2 at 388 meters above sea level. There are 28 cantons with a total of 77 rural communities, making the rural population 20,000, along with an urban population of 7,000. It is a municipality with a lot of identity and its own hymn, flag and seal."
