From the Partizánske website: "This flag is also quite new and made by a teacher of history who is interested in flags and arms. The colours are connected with the emblem and each one has its own meaning." Adopted 4 Dec 1996.

Partizánske Coat of Arms

Partizánske Coat of Arms from http://www.tatrahome.sk/revue/erby/ . (!Link does not work any more!)

Comment from the Partizánske website: This one is an older town emblem which you can also see a symbol of shoe industry expressed by a boot on. The fire behind a hill is a sign of the SNP (Slovak National Revolt) because Partizánske was one of the revolt centres. The Slovak National Revolt took place in 1848; on the 9 February, 1949 the city of Bat'ovany was renamed Partizánske."

It may be of some interest to note that this fire is the one shown in the former Czechoslovakian coat of arms as escutcheon, symbolizing in it the Slovakian part of the joint state.

Partizánske new Coat of Arms

[Partizanske new Coat of Arms] from the Partizánske website: "This is the newest town coat-of-arms. It shows that the town was important centre of the shoe industry although there were many generous fields around."
