The complete name of the company is Splošna plovba, International
Shipping and Chartering Ltd..
It was established on 22 October 1954 and began operating with one
vessel of 525 dwt. Today, Splošna plovba operates 19 vessels of 633.839
dwt in the worldwide tramp trade and liner services. Several of these
ships are named after Slovene places (Bled, Bohinj, Celje, Izola,
Kamnik, Koper, Kranj, Ljubljana, Maribor, Piran, Planica, Portorož and, of course, Slovenija).
The company carries out all business activities connected with
sale/purchase and employment of vessels on the shipping market and
provides commercial, technical and other services to its subsidiary
companies and to other interested parties.

The house flag of Splošna plovba is divided diagonally in white and blue with a white emblem in the blue field. The emblem consists of a triple-peaked mountain (Triglav) above a white anchor and three white wavy lines.

The logotype of the company, as shown on the aforementioned company websites, is not white as shown on the flag, but red (Triglav mountain), black (anchor) and blue (waves).

The Association of Shipmasters & Chief Engineers in Maritime Transport of the Republic of Slovenia (founded 1990) uses the same symbol, Triglav above waves.

The flag used before the independence of Slovenia has a golden bordered red five-pointed star in the white field, as can be seen on Josef Nüsse's Reedereiflaggen und Schiffsfotos website.
