Flag of Apače

The flag of Apače is horizontally divided green-blue green with the municipal coat of arms near the hoist. The apparent proportions are 2:5 (or 1:3?).

There was a contest to design the municipal flag and arms, the deadline for submission being 31 January 2008. The results of the competition do not seem to have been published.
The new arms and flag were ceremoniously presented to the public on 13 March 2009, during the the celebration of the 2nd Municipal Day. A movie has the entire recording of the celebrationmovie available on the municipal website shows the entire recording of the celebration; photos show the most important clips.
Only the horizontal version of the flag was seen during the ceremony.

The coat of arms of Apače is: "Per fess embowed argent with a mill wheel maroon and vert five wavy 'lines' azure."
The 'lines' or 'smudges' are unblazonable.

Temporary coat of arms of Apače - Image by Pascal Gross, 26 December 2007

The Apače municipal website showed for a while some kind of coat of arms featuring a sunflower with five stars below and the name of the municipality above, but I think this was only a temporary symbol used for the website.
