The coat of arms and the flag of Vojnik are prescribed by Decision Odlok o obliki in nacinu uporabe simbolov ter pecatov Občine Vojnik, adopted on 17 April 1996 and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 26, 17 May 1996, pp. 2175-7.

The field of the flag is of an unusual light green shade (15% Pantone 361) with the coat of arms in the lower part. The flag is in proportions 1:3, vertically hoisted. The coat of arms is set in the middle of the boundary of the lower and the central square.

The coat of arms of Vojnik can be blazoned as: "Per pale, vert a crown or, gules a fess argent". The Decision explicitly requires the fess argent to be grey.
The coat of arms is the exact copy from the image in Pichinger's book, which is in turn a drawing of the 1479 seal. The only difference between Pichinger's depiction and the modern coat of arms is the black line dividing the fields into two parts.
