The flag and coat of arms of Gorišnica are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Gorišnica, adopted on 30 May 1996, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 39/1996, 26 July 1996, with effect on the same day.

As shown by Stanič & Jakopič [j2s05], the flag has proportions 1:2, and is yellow with the municipal coat of arms in the middle. The size of the coat of arms is defined as 1/2 of the hoist size.
Article 11 of the aforementioned decision prohibits the use of the flag by political parties during election campaigns.
