Coat of arms of Bovec - Image by Željko Heimer
The emblem used as the coat of arms by the municipality of Bovec
shows a chamois in jump over a mountain partially covered with snow
with a river flowing from it.
According to Gogala, it symbolizes the Bovec canyon (Bovška kotlina), the valleys of Trenta and Koritnica rivers and the high mountains of the municipality. The S shaped river representsts the river Soča (in Italian, Isonzo).
