What’s on the coat of arms — calabasses, pumpkins, mellons? The canton shows the regional arms, of course. As for the colors, the mentioned symbolism is nice, but I “sniff” also a Don Cossack influence. This city is located on the Don basin and the connection with Don Cossacks is quite probable, even if their main territory is further to SW.
