The flag of Požarevac is prescribed in "Decision about arms, flag and day of municipality" adopted on 28 December 2005 and published in the official municipal gazette the same day. Article 3 says:
The flag of Požarevac is square-shaped with the arms of the municipality in the middle. The colour of the flag is orange. The arms on the flag are displayed in brown or in gold colour.
The old, non-heraladic emblem, used from 1966 until 2001, was introduced again. Designed by the sculptor Nebojša Mitrić, the emblems contains the following stylized elements: a sword, the statue of the "Kličevac idol", an olive branch and three lines symbolizing the three rivers Morava, Danube and Mlava.
The flag is currently (or at least was) in use. The proportions are not the same in several examples shown on the municipal website, there is square version as well as a c. 2:3 version.

The banner of the former municipal arms of Požarevac was official in 2001-2005. Yellow represents the fertile fields surrounding the town, while the blue field is in the shape of the Greek letter π, referring to the confluency of rivers Morava and Mlava into Danube. Three white discs are positioned in the chief of the banner.Ivan Sarajčić, 8 February 2008
