- German name: Neustettin; Kashubian name: Nowé Sztetëno.
Gmina Szczecinek is a rural gmina (commune) in Szczecinek County, West
Pomeranian Voivodship, in north-western Poland. Its seat is the town of
Szczecinek, although the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 510.21 sq.km (197 sq.mi); Population: 10,171 (2006).
forests - 44%; land under cultivation - 38%
Three nature reserves, large lakes and rivers - all this should help
with the development of the tourism.
Arms adopted on May 17, 2000 (resolution # XIX/150/2000).
Flag adopted on March 31, 2003 (resolution # VII/50/2003).
"Arms: on the white shield red griffin, walking to the right and holding
the heralding shield divided in slants into green, yellow and blue zones.
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth in the ratio 5:8 composed of three
slanted color bands: green-yellow-blue.
The Arms (without the shield) are placed in the middle of the yellow
band to make a ceremonial flag."
