Gmina Bodzechów is a rural gmina (commune) in Ostrowiec County, Świętokrzyskie
Voivodship, in south-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Ostrowiec
Świętokrzyski, although the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 122.28 sq.km (47.2 sq.mi); Population: 13,388 (2006).
Kind of suburb of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, the commune is basically
agricultural.
land under cultivation - 63%; forests - 28%.
In the past, the commune was known for manufacturing fine flint stone
tools.
Arms and flag adopted on March 19, 2004 (resolution # XIV/6/2004).
"Arms: on a red shield, between two silver flint stones, an oak tree
with three leaves and two acorns - in gold.
Flag: divided vertically into two equal fields.
Next to the hoist is a red field with the Arms without the shield.
The fly part is composed of three horizontal bands:
* white - 2/5 of the width of the flag
* red - 1/5 of the width of the flag
* yellow - 2/5 of the width of the flag."
