First mention recorded in 1277
Last private owner of Koszęcin was Prince Karol Gotfryd zu Hohenlohe
Ingelfingen. In January 1945 he left the village just ahead of charging
Red Army and relocated to Graz (Austria) where he died childless in 1960.

New Arms and a brand new flag adopted on September 30, 2008 (resolution
# 259/XXIX/2008).
Arms: on a blue shield a scythe, a wheat stalk and a crenelated castle.
Inside the castle's gate is a clef - a musical symbol related to the
"Silesian Holiday" and the famous Polish folkloric Dance and Song Ensemble
"Śląsk" headquartered in Koszęcin.
Flag: rectangular, blue, in the ratio 5:8 with the Arms in its center."
