Kashubian name: Pruszcz Gduńsczi; German name: Praust.
Gmina Pruszcz Gdański is a rural gmina (commune) in Gdańsk County,
Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Pruszcz
Gdański, although the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
It is entirely within Greater Gdańsk metropolitan area.
Area: 142.56 sq.km (55.0 sq.mi); Population: 16,992 (2006).
Arms and flag adopted on June 27, 2003 (resolution # VIII/66/2003).
"Arms: on the green shield an image of the silver griffin, in profile
to the left, resting its paw on the stylized letter "P" on which a silhouette
of a wheat stalk is placed. All outlined thinly with the gold line.
Flag: a rectangle composed of three uneven vertical bands.
Outside, narrow bands are green and the middle, wide band is white.
In the center of this band the Arms of the commune are placed."
