Nowy Staw city and commune flag

Nowy Staw - urban-rural commune, Malbork County, Pomorskie Voivodship - old Polish name: Nytych (1945); old German name: Neuteich.
Gmina Nowy Staw is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Malbork County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Nowy Staw, which lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) north of Malbork and 36 km (22 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Area: 114.38 sq.km (44.2 sq.mi); Population: 7,840 (2006).
City rights applied in 1345 The name translates into: New Pond.

New flag adopted on February 1, 2007 (resolution # 38/2007).
Arms and previous flag adopted  in 2003 (resolution # 34/2003).

Arms: green three-leaved plant (Latin: trifolium; English: trefoil; French: trefle; German: dreiblatt; Polish: trójlistna roślina) on the white shield  outlined in red.

Flag: a rectangle composed of three uneven horizontal bands: upper and lower are narrow and green, the wide middle band is white and carries the commune's Arms above the legend "NOWY STAW" in gold letters outlined in green.
Previous flag (2003) was a plain bicolor of white over green.
The town's Coat of Arms differs by the addition of the red mural crown (three towers) above the shield."
