During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939,German minority members
in Poland on 10th September with help of German army murdered 17 Poles
and Jews.
The victims were buried in mass graves.
Arms and flag adopted on November 14, 2003 (resolution # X/61/03).
"Arms: shield divided vertically into two halves.
On the right, blue field, an image of Saint Prokop (1053) who is a
patron of the commune.
On the left,yellow field a black horse standing on its hind legs.
The horse is related to the etymology of the commune's name.
Flag: rectangle composed of two equal vertical bands: yellow and blue.
The Arms are placed centrally. Ratio of the flag is 5:8.
