Złotoryja commune flag
Zlotoryja - rural commune, Zlotoryja County, Dolnoslaskie Voivodship -
former German name: Goldberg.
You have the flag of the urban commune
(by Gunnar Staack 2000) with the very interesting note, so, to complete
everything, here is the flag of the rural commune encompassing the urban
one: "The Arms of the Commune show a princely couple symbolizing Prince
Henryk Brodaty ( Henry I the Bearded or Heinrich I der Bärtige)
and his wife - Jadwiga Śląska (Hedwig of Andechs - later Saint Hedwig),
the parents of Duke Henry II the Pious, who would be killed in 1241 battling
the Mongols at Legnica (Liegnitz). Henryk Brodaty was Duke of Lower Silesia
from 1201 and from 1232 to his death, Duke of Lesser Poland (Kraków) and
thus senior prince of all Poland.
Source: Wikipedia.
The princely couple is shown behind the wall of a fortress, symbolizing
the castle in Rokitnica, which was one of their residences.
Below the wall there are five wheat stalks, corresponding to the agricultural
traditions of the Commune.
The colors of the Arms are: wall - red, clothes - white and red, wheat
stalks - golden (yellow), overall background - green.
The flag is a horizontal tri-band. The upper two bands - red and
yellow - are narrow. The bottom band - green - is double the width of the
two upper ones."
