The new Arms and the brand new flag were adopted on March 31, 2009 (resolution # XXIII/127/2009).
The Arms, chosen in the competition out of four final designs, are described as: "on a late-gothic shield divided horizontally by a wavy, silver and blue ribbon,
the upper part features on golden background a black half-eagle of the Lower Silesian Piasts, and the lower, red part, shows a silver "Maltese" cross" - four-armed and eight-pointed.
The wavy, blue and white ribbon separating the shield, represents the river Ślęza.
Flag: a rectangle in the ratio 5:8 composed of two equal horizontal bands: the upper one is blue and the lower one is silver (white).
The ceremonial flag of the commune bears the Arms in its center."
