Osterøy municipality is situated in Hordaland county.
The flag of Osterøy consists of three blue axes pointing downwards on a field of white, with two axes at the top and one beneath. As a tool used by craftsmen, the axes represent the historic importance of the building trade in the community. Building craftsmen from Osterøy have been known for their solid work throughout the county. The flag was approved by Royal
resolution of 20 December 1985. The artist was Egil Korsnes who based his design on the idea of Magnus Hardeland.
