Quisling's party, Nasjonal Samling (National Unity), had a Scandinavian cross flag of red field and yellow cross. All the various specialised organisations within the party (Hird, women's and youth organisations etc.) also had flags. These were based on the party emblem, the sun cross, a red disc with a yellow cross. The emblem was put on a plain field. Each
organisation had a different colour.
Jan Oskar Engene, 11 April 1996
The party flag of Nasjonal Samling was in proportions 10:16, the cross being equal to 2 parts, the red rectangles at the hoist were 4 parts by 5 and those at the free end of the flag 4 parts by 9. In other words, the party flag design had proportions different from those of the national flag of Norway.
The Nasjonal Samling party flag seems to have been in use from the party was set up in 1933 until the liberation of Norway 8. May 1945.
