Alianța Moldova Noastrǎ" (AMN, Our Moldova Alliance) was founded on 19 July 2003 as the merger of "Alianţei Social-Democrate din Moldova" (ASDM, Social-Democratic Alliance of Moldova", "Partidului Libera" (PL, Liberal Party - not the same as the current PL shown below), "Alianţei Independenţilor din Republica Moldova" (AIRM, Independents' Alliance of the Republic of Moldova) and "Partidul Democrat-Popular din Moldova" (DPPM, Democratic People's Party of Moldova".
AMN is chaired by Serafim Urecheam, a former Mayor
of Chişinău and the former chairman of AIRM.
In the 2009 legislative elections, AMN obtained nearly 10% of the vote
and 11 out of the 101 seats.
The flag of AMN, as seen on photos of street demonstrations available
on the party's website, is yellow with the emblem of AMN.
The emblem of AMN is made of a yellow half-sun with 13 rays, placed on
a blue background. The short name of the party "MOLDOVA NOASTRǍ" is
written below the half-sun.

The flag of MAE, as shown on photos available on the party's website, is white with the simplified emblem of the party. The emblem of MAE is made of the blue letters "MAE", placed above a thin horizontal stripe vertically divided blue-yellow-red (the national colours), the "A" entering a circle of 11 blue stars surrounding a blue arrow.

The "Partidul Comuniştilor din Republica Moldova" (PCRM; in English, Party of
the Communists of the Republic of Moldova) was founded in October 1993 as the
successor of the Communist Party, banned in August 1991. In the 2001 general
elections, the PCRM won 71 out of the 101 seats in the Parliament; the PCRM
representatives voted a modification of the Constitution allowing the Parliament
to appoint the President of the Republic, and Vladimir Voronin (b. 1941), the
historic leader of the PCRM, was appointed head of the state on 4 April 2001. In
the 2005 elections, the PCRM won only 56 seats but other parties joined it to
promote Vornonin for a second mandate as the President of the Republic.
The website of the PCRM shows the party logo as a red hammer-and-sickle with a
red open book above the hammer. Photographs available on the party website show
two flags that are surely related to the PCRM but presumably none of them is
"the" PCRM flag. The first flag is red with a ring of 12 white stars surrounding
a red and white hand-like emblem. This emblem belongs to the "Uniunea
Tineretului Comunist din Moldova (in English, "Union of the Communist Youth of
Moldova"), the youth branch of the PCRM. The second flag is white with a red
hammer-and-sickle surmounting the red lettering "Mbl / ZA BAC!"

The "Partidul Conservator" (PC; in English, Conservative Party) was founded
on 24 June 2006 by Natalia Nirca and officially registered on 12 July 2006. The
statutes of the party say: "(2) Emblema şi simbolul (semnul) electoral al P.C.
constă în imaginea unui strugure de poamă de culoare violet, două frunze de
viţă-de-vie de culoare verde şi codiţa de culoare aurie." The emblem of the
party is described as a purple grape with two green leaves and a golden stem.

The "Partidul Liberal" (PL; in English, Liberal Party) was founded on 24
April 2005 as the successor of the "Partidul Reformei" (in English, Party of
Reform), itself formed on 5 September 1993. In the 2007 local elections, the
PL won 11 out of the 51 seats in the Municipal Council of Chişinău; its
candidate, Dorin Chirtoacă (b. 1978), was elected Mayor of Chişinău with 61%
of the votes.

The "Partidul Popular Republican" (PPR; in English, Republican Popular Party)
was founded on 16 April 1999 and officially registered on 20 May 1999 as the
Peasants' Christian Democratic Party of Moldova (PCDPM). The party took its
today's name during its 6th conference held on 28 May 2005. The PCDMP received
0.27% of the votes in the 2001 general elections.

The
flag of the PPR, as shown on the party website behind members of the party
board, is purple with the seal-shaped, white emblem of the party. The emblem of
the PPR shows a white castle flanked by two towers surmounting the party acronym
PPR in white letters and surrounded by the full name of the party, in white
letters, too.

The "Partidul Popular Creştin Democrat" (PPCD; in English,
Christian-Democratic People's Party, CDPP) was founded in 1999 as the successor
of the "Frontul Popular Creştin Democrat" (FPCD; in English, Christian
Democratic Popular Front), itself founded in 1992 as the successor of the "Frontul
Popular din Moldova" (FPM; in English, Popular Front of Moldova), itself founded
in 1989 as the successor of the "Mişcarea Democratică din Moldova" (MDM; in
English, Democratic Movement of Moldova, founded in 1988). Presided by Iurie
Roşca (b. 1961) since its foundation, the PPCD supports unification with Romania
and integration into NATO and EU. In the 2005 general elections, the PPCD won 9%
of the votes and 11 out of the 101 seats in the Parliament.

"Partidul Social Democrat" (PSD) was founded on 13 May 1990 as "Partidul
Social-Democrat din Moldova" (PSDM). After its failure in the 2005 general
election (less than 3% of the votes and no seat in the Parliament), PSDM merged
in December 2007 with PSD, chaired by Dumitru Braghiş (b. 1957), Prime Minister
of Moldova in 1999-2001. Braghiş became the chairman of the new party while the
former chairman of PSDM, Eduard Muşuc, became Secretary General of the new
party. PSD claims on its website a "partnership" with the Party of European
Socialists and the Socialist International but does not appear on the listings
of these two organizations.
The party's website shows several photos of
street demonstrations, on which the flag of PSD can be seen in two versions, a
red flag with the party's emblem in white and a white flag with the party's
emblem in red. The symbol of PSD is prescribed in the statutes of the party,
adopted in 2007 in Chişinău:
"Article 2. Symbols of the party.
1. The
electoral sign (symbol) of PSD is made of two roses, white and red, linked by a
ribbon forming in its upper part the symbol of infinity.
2. The logo of the
party is a stylized hand holding a rose, the badge of the Socialist
International.
3. The graphic form of the party's symbols is given in the
annex of the present statutes [not available]."

The flag of UCM is described in Article 4.2. of the party's statutes, last amended on 27 September 2008. Accordingly, the flag is in dimensions 1.2 m x 2 m (3:5), blue with a white disk of 0.8 in diameter charged with the emblem of the party. I understand that the name of the party is written in "national language" (Romanian, officially called Molodvan) on the obverse and in Russian of the reverse of the flag. A black and white representation of the flag is available in Appendix 2.
The emblem of UCM is described in Article 4.1.
The emblem represents the administrative and territorial map of
Moldova, supported by two hands and surrounded by an imaginary circle
bearing the party's name.

The party's website shows the emblem with the map diagonally divided
blue-yellow-red and the administrative divisions marked with grey
limits; the hands are yellow. The divisions shown on the map are the
nine old judeţe replaced in 2003 by 32 raion and five municipalities.
The name of the party's chair is added in blue capital letters above
the map. There is a "national" and a Russian version of the emblem.
The flag, without the name of the chairman and with Moldovan writing,
can be seen on several colour photos available on V. Tarlev's website.
