Overview

Today in the newspaper "Diena", an article was published about flag of Kolkas pagasts (Kolka civil parish; civil parish is lowest level administrative unit in Latvia). Designer of flag is Vladimirs Ladusans (creator of more than 15 coats of arms of Latvian parishes and also some towns). Flag introduced in September 2000.
Colors used in flag are similar to Livonian people flag in exact proportions.
Kolka parish is one of constituent parts of cultural-historic state protected area "Lîvôd Randa" (Livod Randa / Livonian coast) which is place of habitation of main part of remaining Livonians in Latvia. In center of flag is placed Coat-of-arms in which in sea-blue field is golden chevron(?) which symbolize Kolkasrags (Kolka Cape) and arm in Livonian colors.
