Overview

Flag and Coat of Arms of Kalnciems (District of Jelgava). City since 1991.
Guy Babonneau, 29 January 2006

The Coat of Arms is officia. About the flag I dont have any other sources. In the descriptionof theCoat of Arms. in the centre of a green field is stack of golden bricks. Lower part is in color of white lime (whitewash), but real color is sligtly bluish gray. Recently I was in Kalnciems, but the flag is not used anywhere in town.
Kalnciems is a small town (town rights from 1991) with 2,200 inhabitants on river Lielupe in Jelgava district. Kalnciems is site of dolomite extraction and in 1st half of XX century was place of  penal survitute. In soviet times it was township with factory of construction supplies. Now it is one of depressive suburbs of Riga (90 km from city).
